Characteristics of tempered glass
Nov 29,2024

Tempered glass is made by heating ordinary glass to near its softening point and then rapidly cooling it with air, causing changes in the internal molecular structure. This creates strong compressive stress on the surface, increasing the mechanical strength of the glass several times. The surface compressive stress of tempered glass is above 90 MPa, while that of semi-tempered glass is between 24 MPa and 60 MPa.
Features
● Safety: Tempered glass breaks into small blunt particles in a honeycomb shape, effectively reducing harm to the human body.
● High strength: Tempered glass is generally 4 to 5 times stronger than ordinary glass.
● Deflection: It is 3 to 4 times greater than ordinary glass.
● Thermal stability: The thermal shock resistance is 3 times that of ordinary glass under a temperature change of 300 degrees.
